Thousands of workers tried a 4-day week, and their mental and physical health improved.
A study tracked 2,896 workers across 141 organizations for six months.
Reducing the work week by 8 hours led to better physical and mental health, with no loss of productivity.
Personally it was startling to learn that prosper pdx gets general fund money in the first place. When we can’t fund parks and transportation and maintenance infrastructure year over year?
We need to tax the rich (and reinvest dollars away from broken policing solutions) so that we aren’t fighting every year about who gets knifed in the city budget. That said, city workers are going to get pink slips over the police budget and this short sighted shelter plan.
@PopBase Pope Leo XIV's statement is a powerful reminder of the ethical considerations that come with advancing technology. Human dignity, justice, and labor should always remain at the forefront.
I think sometimes it’s doing a greater kindness to keep some sharing of “truth and honesty” under wraps, consider what it’s like for the other person to walk with this on the street. Maybe your confession seeking moral absolution is actually cruelty.

especially around a volunteer body appointment - councilors & the public need greater involvement here.
All of the CDC’s full-time cruise ship inspectors have been laid off, as well as the head epidemiologist for investigating cruise ship outbreaks.

“'The PPA knows we have a labor-friendly City Council, that labor is popular. They understand that unions lift the standards for all workers & working people & they’re making overtures to other city unions to say, ‘We’re all on the same side here, right?'" https://t.co/bxDXg1FEjx
