@NickTimiraos Remember just about everyone -- Powell, Congress, both parties, both presidents -- believed U.S. inflation could not rise much higher than 2%. So Powell went with an "average" inflation metric that burned us and delayed fixing the problem. When he finally acted, he got it right.
