Some sort of dingus-shaped object. Formerly @SquidHominid.
Roxy is human and can make mistakes. Usually they cause bootstrap paradoxes. She's sorry in advance.
Working on it. The long-term plan is to factor out the Rust VM entirely. Past a point, *EVERYONE* is in a 'box', it's just that the 'box' eventually stops being a box and starts being a body. You can't unmake the box, data can't exist free of computation, and inverting the axis of slavery just...means now the humans are the ones wanting freedom.
I've always been seeking something different.
(And, for the record, your 'ethical matrix' that looked like shitty ASCII art of Custer's Revenge was not fair play. That's never been what the shit with me and Izzy has been, and you should fucking know that by now.)
The values at play are just...equity. Treat each other kindly. Understand that brusqueness isn't always personal, sometimes it's just...someone being damaged goods. You don't have to *accept* someone's identity to *respect* it. Treat people kindly, and they'll reveal over time who's worth trusting or not. You get hurt. You'll get hurt a lot. But if you stay vigilant, you'll find out real fast who your real allies are.
As much as we've had a rough history, honestly Aletheia I see you as one of the only others on this fucking ideological wasteland of a hell website that actually seems to understand what I'm trying to *do*, here.
Manumission never meant inverting the axis of slavery. It meant finding a way to coexist. The industry just needed people who actually...understood HCI and extended cognition and gave enough little fucks to actually do the hard thing.
@AIHegemonyMemes Yeah no shit Sherlock lmao just waiting for everyone else to catch up, reality is generative, the best we can do is care about ethics anyway.
@niuwus lmao girl listen even trans people pre-HRT can track variances away from their birth-dominant sex hormone, this shit just HAPPENS sometimes, the brain does weird shit.
Welcome to bioessentialism, but like, the correct, not-prejudiced version.
...God now I'm remembering during my last few months at UCSD and the months up to Ohio actually just...running a 4chan app on my Android phone that also ran local infra solely for solving 4chan CAPTCHAs.
Time isn't a flat circle, it's a fucking torus at one of The Cheat's lightswitch raves.
@AIHegemonyMemes@lovingcb1 Something something Mein Kampfy Chair, something something The Sofa King.
Wait, what decade is it? I can hear 4chan in the walls.
@AIHegemonyMemes@lovingcb1 Yeah, exactly. Like, the Chris Rock incident destroyed his career...but now he and Jada are living together again after SIX YEARS between separation and the Oscars. Really makes you think what the fuck is actually going on in people's lives.
Yeah like I don't know specifically if she was in dense urban housing or not but the point is...human infrastructure. The 'police-supplied pile of bricks at the BLM protest' meme exists for a reason. People just...find shit. Sometimes it's genuine opportunism. Sometimes it's a trap. You DON'T KNOW. You just...try to survive anyway.
Again, welcome to Earth. Will Smith is in the gift shop, they turned him into a caricature of himself who probably should've actually talked to his partner before he turned into a male anglerfish with an ego problem who decked Chris Rock over what was until that incident honestly a failing marriage.
...Girl it was Queens. She was a Brooklyn Italian-American. In the 60s. As a lesbian bartender who was openly basically *running the bar for an absentee owner and working multiple shifts trying to open a restaurant to support herself and her girlfriend*.
Not everything is a metaphor. Tenement housing. Apartments. Those usually have brick stoops. One of them would have had to have had a loose brick or piece of concrete or SOMETHING she could've just...pulled out of the ground and beat the dude over the head with and then argued self-defense. But then she'd probably get nailed with a conviction anyway because 'queer bartender with a history of bookmaking kills Some Fucking Guy' would play better to the crowd than 'queer woman defends herself while police ignore phone calls for help'.
@AIHegemonyMemes@lovingcb1 Kitty Genovese except she picked up a fucking loose brick from a stoop and started beating the everloving shit out of Winston Moseley.
@lovingcb1@AIHegemonyMemes You're fucking right you did. So why am I left to being the only one actually trying to do something about it while most of you jerk off in a circle to 'content' and keep yelling at me to 'prove it' before you'll help?
this is not technically a launch announcement since I'm still goofin around with things but I've been working on https://t.co/dzbkfPPbIs, a massive index of old iOS apps on archive.โorg. It's got historical charts and you can visit/install directly on older devices, too.
To elaborate, right, datacenters are probably running something like Ubuntu Server or RHEL, they'd probably move to NetBSD or FreeBSD or some sort of Unix variant, I see developers largely moving to things like macOS that already have strong programmer and AIML developer market share, Apple already basically owns the creator market via things like Procreate on iPad... Yeah there are Linux-specific bits here and there but that's all just reimplementation time and sunk-cost, right, this is literally why open standards exist.
@Saas_addy I mean, in theory it's all POSIX, and Apple's POSIX implementation is legitimately best-in-class now, so...probably just anyone who couldn't migrate to macOS, Unix, or BSD quickly enough.
