@iamCodec These people are afraid because their entire livelihood relies on society's stagnation at everyone else's expense. Largest parasites mankind has ever seen.
@iamCodec If I were a member of the National Guard, having to "guard" the reflecting swamp would genuinely be magnitudes more demoralizing for me than going days without food😆Like imagine having to detain people just because they touched the water lmao
Doing re-topology for the first time has been an enlightening experience. Seeing how poles affect shading, getting to experiment with ngons, getting a general feel for what works and what doesn't - it's all been very productive🤠
Wow, I think I'm actually finished with the base mesh for the flash hider. Quite happy with how it's turned out so far. Wrangling the booleans for the first time was definitely a journey, but I feel great so far. Looking forward to nailing the re-topology after a short break.😁
Got started getting the base mesh down for the second project! I decided on the Ase Utra Hiper-S flash hider and DUAL 556-S Gen 2 suppressor combo. Two relatively small objects, but with some very interesting details which have already presented me with fun challenges🤠
@KatDoes3D Exactly. That's what I mean by shape, proportions, scale, etc. I started work on a flash hider and was stun locked over the exact measurements for the internal and external threading - matching exact thread count, undercut length, and so on. Am I overthinking it all? 😅
I think a big hurdle I will have to get over in 3D art is the strong obsession with making sure all measurements are perfect. Hopefully, my second project, being something with no publicly available measurements/technical drawings, will help me let go of that habit.
@KatDoes3D Same - very obsessive and very compulsive. Getting proper proportions and scale down seems to be most important. At the end of the day, it's a game/portfolio asset so being a millimeter or two off likely won't affect anything at all, so long as it looks good to the eye.
While taking a short break and preparing for the next project, I made a couple of stencils from the Spanish naval ensign from the San Ildefonso 🇪🇸, which took part in the Battle of Trafalgar. I wonder what the warship's crew would have to say about my use of their ensign😅
@JoeWilsonEQ1 The whole discourse wasn't anything new to me, frankly. A 3D role in game dev is the goal, but not the only way forward. I personally have no issue using my 3D skills for other fields - I will continue to make mods and game assets in my free time regardless. I love it too much!
@JoeWilsonEQ1 This is why I always make a conscious effort to check myself to make sure I don't get in over my head with some grand, elaborate project just yet.
