@FamilyBankKenya Ltd's debut trading session at the Nairobi Securities Exchange saw the counter close at Kes 26.0/share, up from an introductory price of Kes 18.0/share.
The share touched a high of Kes 50.0/share on its debut trade, vaulting the bank's market capitalisation to Kes 83.13 billion, 2.8x the entry capitalisation.
Prior to the listing, I had sat down with the bank's CEO & MD, Nancy Njau, & had a few questions:
Β· What was the rationale behind an introductory price which, in my own analysis, was markedly discounted?
Β· What was the bank's experiencing trading in the OTC market & what gains were expected from switching from OTC to the main market?
Β· What can the market expect from a dividend perspective?
