I was 15.
3 days at home in agony, unable to stand or move or eat or drink without severe abdominal pain.

Threw up when I stood.
In bed crying nonstop.

Eventually, I went to the hospital. The nurse complained that I was covering my hair with a hoodie (lol)

Got admitted.

They did tests. Gave me pain meds.

Kept me for some days, on pain meds and fluids.

Spent 3 days trying to convince me it was all because of 'that time of the month', even suggesting I may have just needed some attention and 'TLC'

Doctors came and went, referring to my severe pain as a 'mystery'

On Day 3, Doctor Kahn came to the bed and said – 'sometimes in life we experience pain for no reason, and there's nothing that can be done about it. It's just one of life's mysteries..we're discharging you'

Another nurse came around and told me it was definitely just that time of the month (lol) and not to worry.

I knew they were wrong, but ok.

I was sitting around waiting for discharge papers, looking miserable when another nurse walked by and looked at my chart and realised they never did the standard urine test and some of the other labs were missing too.

She did it on a rush order as I was literally about to be sent home.

Turns out I had a severe infection and significantly reduced function in 1 kidney.

So — NOT that time of the month.

Thank you to that 1 nurse who didn't see a teenage girl in severe pain and write it off as attention seeking due to 'that time of the month'

Did y’all see the TikTok of that lady? That asked her husband to bring her lunch to work because she didn’t have enough time to make her own lunch and she’s unboxing the lunch her husband made her on camera and she’s pulling out open packages of snacks from the pantry not in any bags or other containers. The actual opened bags of snacks from the pantry just put in the bag, under that is two day old Chipotle that was in the fridge and under that is a Ziploc bag full of dog food full of kibble because you are my dog and there is a note that says “but please bring this back though because we’re running low on food for the dog”……….Girl in my opinion your husband hates you and so many women have pointed this out in the comments and of course she’s doing the classic thing. It’s just it’s just a joke okay? If that’s the joke lunch where is the real lunch? Because you asked your husband to bring you lunch and he didn’t bring you lunch so what’s the joke? Also He put more effort into calling you a dog by putting the kibble in a Ziploc bag then just going to a drive-through and getting you lunch.
If this is love i don’t want to be part of it 🫠

Woman on tiktok reported how her husband went to the doctor for basically the same symptoms she’s been dealing with-tired all the time, no energy, just run down. And they run all these tests on him, they were super concerned, they get him in with specialists right away. And then she goes to the same doctor & tell him. “Yeah, I'm in chronic pain, I'm tired, I have no energy, I have no libido, I have pain when I have sex, and I just feel so run down and defeated. And the doctor looks at her and goes, 'Welcome to motherhood, no test no specialist nothing ….Like... that's it? We can't just say 'welcome to motherhood' to women when they're complaining about being tired and in chronic pain and having difficulty performing daily functional activities. Medical misogyny is so cruel!
