Trans kids exist. Gay kids exist. We don’t magically get our LGBTQ+ powers at 18. If a student wants to be called by a different name because it might make them feel more comfortable with themselves, it’s not the teachers job to discourage that. It’s their job to teach.

As a queer person, this is actually terrifying.

LGBTQ+ people are having to flee Florida to find “safe states” at the moment so that they can remain safe and raise their kids.

Saying that you are ‘committed’ to following that is no less than a threat to LGBT people.
