My second day using @mrtjakarta. Service was impressive, but I was struck (and saddened) by its sheer emptiness at 5 pm - the crazy traffic jam hour. The @DKIJakarta govt should make ppl switch from private to public transport.
while trying to visit her injured dad and grandpa is on all of us. WE failed her and all of Gaza’s children. It’s up to us, now and forever, to heal these kids, rebuild their lives and give them a future beyond death and occupation. But for that we need a #CEASEFIRE_NOW
That’s the message. I get those everyday. Anyone with friends or family in Gaza gets the same or worse. As the father of a 5y old girl, the thought that my Layla would have to fight cancer and then wander the streets alone during a genocide against children and beg for food
“I found her walking alone at European hospital, she was trying to visit her injured father & grandfather in the hospital being treated. Safia's family are at a shelter in one of nearby UN schools; her clothes were wet and she was begging street sellers for sweet and toys.”
“Safia’s family are struggling to afford their needs of minimum livelihood, shelter, hygiene and most importantly Safia's health follow up for cancer.”
“She received treatment at our Dr. Musa and Suhaila Nasir Pediatric Cancer Dept. Safia was displaced to UNRWA school during the war with her siblings and parents. When the situation got complicated in the north they moved with her both war injured father & l grand father.”
“They were admitted to European hospital in Khan Younis and the family became refugees at Fokhari Unrwa school. Safia is like thousands of Palestinian children has no access for clean water, food, clothes and proper health care.”
This message hit me particularly hard, not just because I ❤️Gaza and I’m a human being with no hatred in my heart, but I also have a 5-year-old girl and can’t imagine her going through this. Our department head wrote me: “Safia is a 5 years-old with leukemia from Beit Lahia…..
I got a message today from the head of our now-closed pediatric cancer department that we opened to treat sick children in #Gaza in 2019 at Rantisi hospital. That department was bombed on Nov. 5 and forcibly evacuated two days later.

BREAKING -
This message just in from Shifa:
Shifa hospital completely besieged.
Surrounded by Israeli attack army.
Snipers are shooting through the windows.
Killing.
We are minutes away from death as the world is watching.
#GPON23 stand with all cancer nurses & HCPs striving to deliver cancer care, patients struggling to receive critical treatment & their families supporting them in conflicts & war
My deepest respect for all nurses and health care workers in Gaza for dedicating their lives in such an unimaginable situation, especially knowing that hospitals have been targeted. Another level of faith and humanity.
Would @ICNurses even notice?
Utterly shocked by reports of attacks on ambulances evacuating patients close to Al-Shifa hospital in #Gaza, leading to deaths, injuries and damage.
We reiterate: patients, health workers, facilities, and ambulances must be protected at all times. Always.
Ceasefire NOW. #NotATarget
