They think they can gaslight us when after 6 years of VAR we get 1 season with a minor positive outcome from VAR after 5 seasons of hugely negative ones.
They think we forgot how they implemented special rules for Arsenal last season and ruined our season with the most absurd red cards that we never saw again.
They think we forgot how they “forgot to drew lines” for a clear offside on a title race.
They think we forgot about the accumulation of ridiculous calls and constantly being in the negative end of the VAR repercussions.
The ONLY PL team to be on that negative side in 5 out of 6 seasons, but they want to convince us we won through VAR when the effect in our season was completely minor.
Not with me!
@paulbutler1969@thebottomcorna I get what you’re saying. He’s had hard times against physical defenders. Although he wouldn’t be my starting ST against top6 sides I do believe he has significant value against low/mid blocks = >20 games out of 38.
@paulbutler1969@thebottomcorna Fair enough. Just don’t see it that way. We shouldn’t be too sentimental about selling players but I’m not there yet with VG.
Our 25-26 system doesn’t get the best out of him.
And he was bought for specific games/gamestates…
Hope he proves you wrong in 26-27! 😃
@paulbutler1969@thebottomcorna He bailed us out for months! Not primarily with goals but with minutes o/t pitch, availability, workrate and elite mentality. He deserves massive praise for the way he contributee to our title, in his FIRST season in the most demanding league itw! Perspective!
@TheArsenalMind They’re not mutually exclusive.
But today is about celebrating what we have achieved and worked so hard for.
Not about what we’ve missed out on.
Declan Rice:
"Seeing the trophy and watching them lift it… that's what we want too."
"In my first season with Arsenal, we were knocked out in the quarterfinals, in my second season we lost in the semifinals, and tonight we lost in the final. It's similar to what happened in the Premier League; it took us three years of finishing second before we finally won the title."
"And now, having experienced the pain of losing a Champions League final, I want to go back and lift this trophy. And I'm confident we will. Great times lie ahead for this club, and we will stay strong and keep fighting."
This group left everything on the pitch.
Went the distance.
Walked the wire.
Through the cheers and the criticism.
We will we back.
We will go again.
It’s always darkest before the dawn!
🫶🏻 @Arsenal
Forever my club
❤️🤍
@pedroelchileno Really mindboggling. I thought he did pretty well in the first half letting the play continue as much as possible, not getting involved too much for too little. Then switched it up completely and each and every 50/50 went against us. Mad difference. Consistency?
@thebottomcorna Had my doubts seeing him in the line-up but he’s delivering. Mature and composed, controlled agression, master of the situation. Absolute bargain.
Losing is temporary.
Giving up is permanent.
And this group NEVER gave up.
Elite mentality!
Champions baby, all the rest is noise.
