Fred Kummerow, PhD, 1st published his findings about the harm of veg oil trans fats in 1957. Often heckled by industry reps at scientific conferences, he never gave up. Finally, at age 98, he sued FDA & prevailed. Ban went into effect 58 years after FDA knew of harm.
