First of all, your social media outrage, boos, or cheers are completely useless to me. Nobody here feeds me, and if your knee-jerk emotional reactions made any difference, you wouldn't have that thing sitting in Aso Rock calling itself "president". Whenever you are done crying, you'll drink garri and shut up like you always do.
Second, for the benefit of the 10-15% of Nigerians who are still teachable and whose brains aren't completely rotted out by Nigerian Bantu Education and region-specific social media algorithmic programming, I want to ask a rhetorical question.
If like most Nigerians, you have no idea that General Sani Abacha established Nigeria's first and only nuclear reactor and nuclear research facility in 1996, the same year the US launched an urban bombing campaign in Nigeria and started giving arms training to Nigerian exiles in a nearby West African country ahead of a planned armed insurgency that was supposed to kick off in 1998 (I've personally spoken to at least one of these people), then what else don't you know about who or what Sani Abacha was?
What do you actually know about what his government represented to Nigeria beyond the same things you have heard for nearly 30 years? If it wasn't until as recently as 2018 that Nigeria was forced to give up its 1kg of 90% weapons-grade Highly Enriched Uranium which it obtained from China under the program Abacha's government created, and you had no idea when all this was happening, then what else don't you know about Nigeria?
Remember, the target audience of these questions is the 10 - 15% of Nigerians whose brains aren't already calcified and resistant to information. If you're part of the "I have 5 degrees so I am smarter than everyone else" or "I watch Gehgeh live streams" communities, kindly scroll past. This message is not for you.
4 Years Of Revolution: Burkina Faso Continues To Assert Its Sovereignty
On this day, September 30, 2022, Burkina Faso severed ties with its former colonizer France, and embarked on a sovereign path under its revolutionary leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. 4 years later, the West African country and Alliance of Sahel States (AES) member has nationalized its resources, recorded a drastic drop in security incidents, seen its economy soar, and launched its first, 100% state-owned gold refinery.
While many African countries continue to cling to the old system of colonial exploitation, Burkina Faso and its fellow AES members Mali and N*ger are showing Africa that a different future is possible for its people, and that national development is not and has never been rocket science.
@OurFavOnlineDoc This is why democracy is a scam. We all cannot carry one vote, the world has never worked this way. Mankind started this bullshit less than 2 centuries ago and it'll lead to our extinction.
Come here and laugh at "tOmaTo fActOry gUy" if you dare.
First you laughed, now he's shut you up, then you go back and look at your stupid, small self in the mirror and realise you need to clean your room.
Ibrahim Traoré is not your mate!
Le premier lingot d’or frappé du sigle RBF, raffiné au Burkina Faso. Les temps anciens ne reviendront plus jamais. La puissance va irrémédiablement changer de camp. What a time to be alive!
🇳🇪 Niger at the UN:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, as I speak to you, at our northeast borders stand the proxies led by France, backed by Ukraine and 2 other countries."
"And you know full well which countries I mean."
"These proxies are armed, guided, directed, about to attack our military positions and our oil installations. But they will get what they deserve, inshallah."
"Our Sahel is at war. A war of liberation against a conspiracy aimed at its recolonization."
"What some call terrorism in our region is a cynical scheme of recolonization dressed in extremist rags."
"Niger's uranium, the gold of Mali and Burkina, lithium, gas, oil and so many other riches keep the old powers salivating."
"This perfidious destabilization of the central Sahel, led by France with Ukraine's active complicity -- documented, very documented."
"Niger's uranium lit up Europe's cities while ours stayed in darkness. This injustice has now ended. It is over."
"A people that has decided to be free cannot be recolonized, not by fear, nor by cunning, nor even by savage violence."
This is how you have been programmed to see the world by years of incompetent rule of lazy mediocres.
In Singapore, 82% of the citizens live in AFFORDABLE housing built by the GOVERNMENT! The Per Capita Income for Singapore was $99,000.
Let that sink in. Slowly. Singaporeans do not have ANY natural resources. I have also never seen a Singaporean with two heads.
Every time a government has tried to control what it does lot produce, it has ended in disaster.
The despicable and incredibly stupid Buhari once tried tomuse military fiat to determine market prices of commodities, with the disastrous result of a massive economic crash that Nigeria has NEVER truly fully recovered from.
The same government that you're asking to "control" rents is the one issuing C-of-Os at extortionate prices, only to turn around and demolish homes built on those lands, and calling the documents THEY issued fake!
Just stop to think of the costs of compliance with government regulations alone for private developers, then come back with this ill-informed and intellectually malnourished take.
@GRVlagos Exactly! This KOH is just soooooo....oh well, I hope Nigerians can decide. We have a big election coming and I fear we will end up dividing the votes between ADC and NDC while APC just runs away with the victory. I really hope you and Funsho can come to an agreement
The Iphone Cult Phenomenon And Its Hidden Cost in Africa
The recent launch of Apple's iPhone 18 predictably became another installment in the now-familiar annual consumerist spectacle that characterises Apple device launches, complete with live in-store events and smug influencers unboxing their new gadgets in front of their drooling audience.
To many, this familiar yearly routine is just a routine consumer event that hurts nobody and has no wider significance. To those in the know however, there are multiple sinister undertones of African child exploitation, brutal colonial economics, and severe African cultural degradation that are hiding under the cover of the seemingly harmless festival of consumerism surrounding Apple, its business model and its device launches.
Senior reporter @Big_Mck goes under the hood to examine what exactly makes this annual consumer extravaganza possible, and why from an African perspective, there is absolutely nothing to celebrate here.
