Too many Americans have been impacted by gun violence. As I told Kya: It does not have to be this way.
We know the solutions. We need universal background checks, red flag and safe storage laws, and an assault weapons ban.
After 50 years of public service, I still believe in the idea for which our nation stands.
A nation where the strength of our institutions and the character of our people matter and must endure.
Now itâs your turn to stand guard.
Itâs been the privilege of my life to serve our nation for over 50 years.
Iâve given my heart and soul to you, and Iâve been blessed a million times in return with the love and support of the American people.

Today's announcement of a ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas is welcome news.
âšThanks to the leadership of @POTUS and American diplomacy, families of hostages will be finally reunited with their loved ones â and innocent civilians in Gaza can begin to rebuild.
Let us hope that this important step forward will bring lasting peace to the region.
In the history of wrongdoing, both alleged and proven, fewâif anyâcrimes by a public official have reached this level of gravity.
Moving forward, each generation of Americans has a responsibility to work to preserve our republic.
The former Special Counselâs report shows the American people just how close we came to a constitutional crisis by detailing President Trumpâs "criminal efforts to retain power" and subvert the 2020 election.
Last night, former Special Counsel Jack Smithâs report on Donald Trumpâs interference in the 2020 election was transmitted to my office.
My thoughts. A THREAD.
President Joe Biden is leaving office as the most effective president in modern history:
â Over 16 million jobs created
â Lowest unemployment rate average in 50 years
â Brought manufacturing back with the CHIPS and Science Act
â Biggest infrastructure investment since Eisenhowerâs era
â Capped insulin at $35/monthâlife-changing for so many
â Lowered prescription drug costs
â Largest investment in the fight against the climate crisis đ
â Forgave student loans for over 5 million borrowers
â Appointed more Black federal judges than any presidentâincluding a historic number of Black women
The road to this deal has not been easy.
I have worked in foreign policy for decades â this has been one of the toughest negotiations I have ever experienced.
And we have reached this point because of the pressure that Israel built on Hamas backed by the United States.
The ceasefire and hostage release deal announced between Israel and Hamas is good news â for the families of the hostages taken on October 7th, for the Palestinian civilians who have suffered for more than a year, and for everyone who has prayed for an end to this awful chapter.
Itâs important to recognize that no deal â including this one â can ease the pain of those who have lost loved ones, or resolve the longstanding conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. That work will be much harder, and take much longer. But it will put a stop to the bloodshed, allow people to return to their homes, and get much-needed aid to more than a million desperate, hungry people.
Thatâs something we should all support, and Iâm grateful to President Biden, Secretary Blinken, and all the leaders and diplomatic teams from around the world who have worked so hard to get this done.
Today, after many months of intensive diplomacy by the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, Israel and Hamas have reached a ceasefire and hostage deal.
My diplomacy never ceased in their efforts to get this done â I will speak more about this soon.
Chase, thank you for your letter. I am inspired by your passion to make the world better and uplift the voices of others. I know the future of our nation is bright because of young leaders like you.
The U.S. should take full advantage of the diplomatic and geopolitical opportunities my Administration is handing over.
To keep bringing countries together to deal with challenges posed by China.
To make sure Putinâs war ends in a way that ensures a just peace for Ukraine.
And to capitalize on a new moment for a more stable and integrated Middle East.
