WCJ has been inefficient shooting the ball early on, but the minutes and role have been ELITE.

He’s OVER in 3/4 games this season, while only shooting (9/24 37%) in 4 games. Going back to last season, with 28+ minutes, he is over in 28/35 games.

Carter Jr. has been great vs DET/Jalen Duren prior covering in 4/4 games the past couple seasons.

This spot has elite rebound upside as he’s averaging 18.4 potentials per game.

Since Duren and Stewart don’t stretch the floor, it allows centers to stay close to the rim so for centers with 25+ minutes we have seen 14+ rebound chances for 5 of the 6 big men with a conversion rate of 57%.

If you remove deferred rebound chances, which is basically them “giving” an easy rebound to a teammate, that conversion rate goes to 62.5%

We also have scoring upside here as the Pistons allow 7th most 2nd chance points in NBA which is where 62% of his points are coming from.

Paint touches per game is up from 7.78 per 36 last season to 8.9 this season, which gives us more chances to get a basket at the rim along with the increase in minutes he has seen compared to last season.

Schlittler has great stuff with a 98mph Fastball and a 91mph Slider. A prospect with just 2 starts under his belt, one being a 7K game against a good Mariners matchup, and another being a 3 K game against the brutal Blue Jays matchup.

He had 35 Js in 23 innings in AAA before being called up to the big leagues and has shown the same stuff so far.

The Rays hold the 10th highest whiff rate against high velo fastballs (96+ mph) and the 2nd highest whiff rate against high velo sliders (88+ mph), so we have some very high upside once we get to the 2-count.

According to Fangraphs' Pitching+ rating, Schlittler has the 15th best Slider in the MLB among Starting RHPs, in a tier with the likes of Hunter Greene, George Kirby, Logan Gilbert and Max Scherzer. How often do we see any of those guys with a 4.5 line? The answer is: Never.

Lastly, Rays are getting cooked since the break. Kremer got 6, Sean Burke got 5, Jonathan Cannon got 9, Nick Martinez got 5, and Brady Singer got 8. Schlittler, although young, has better stuff than all of those pitchers.
