سنحتاج سنواتٍ طويلة قبل التوصيف الدقيق للراحل والمبدع الكبير #زياد_الرحباني، فمعظم المقابلات التي أجريت معه، كانت تريد تقديمه فنانًا ساخرًا، بينما لو أجرينا تحليلاً علميًّا لمسرحياته ولعددٍ كبير من أغانيه، سنجد أنّه كان سياسيًّا بامتياز، ومُحلّلاً قلّ نظيره، فاق معظم ساسة لُبنان قدرة على استشراف المستقبل وتوقّع مآلات الأمور ، وشرح الواقع....
زياد الرحباني كان ابتسامة المذبوح من الألم، وليس المُضحك أو المُسلّي فحسب كما يحلو للبعض تقديمه. وكان المناضل الحقيقي الذي رافق مجد النضال وانهياره، لكنّه بقي مناضلاً مؤمنًا بتحقّق افكاره يومًا ما، صادقًا بانتمائه، شفّافًا في التزامه.
مسرحية نزل السرور التي كتبها وهو في مقتبل العمر كانت سبّاقة في شرح الواقع الاجتماعي والاقتصادي والسياسي الأليم، ومسرحية فيلم أميركي طويل كانت سبّاقة في استشراف الواقع، ومآلات الحروب اللبنانية الطاحنة، وغيرهما الكثير....
أما الموسيقى، فهو لا يُقاس بأي موسيقي آخر عاصره، هو من نمط المبدعين الكبار، من مستوى موزار، وبيتهوفن، وشوبان، وشوبترت ولويس ارمسترونغ ومايلز دافيس وبيلي هوليداي وغيرهم.... فهذا المبدع الكبير الذي رحل عنا اليوم تاركًا دمعة سخيّة على خد الوطن والإبداع، كان من صنف آخر العباقرة، متابعًا لكل تفصيل سياسيّ، ينبض قلبه على قلب القضايا الشريفة وفي مقدمها فلسطين، ومواكبًا عبقريًا لأعظم الموسيقى العالميّة... هذا هو زياد الرحباني الذي يترك اليوم في قلوبنا غصّة عميقة،ويترك لنا تراثًا إبداعيًّا فريدًا، ولو ان ثمة شخصًا يستحق تمثالاً يجسد رقي الفن، وعمق الكلمة، واصالة الابداع، وصدق النضال، فيجب ان يكون لزياد الرحباني في كل منطقة تمثالٌ وفي كل قلبٍ وردة...

قلب دفاع طوله 1.92 متر، عمره 37 سنة، انتصر على السرطان مرتين، انتصر على الاكتئاب، يركض بالدقيقة 93 وكأن هذه آخر دقيقة لعب في حياته، يتمركز بالصندوق وكأنه كافاني، يضع الكرة بالشباك وكأنه مهاجم مخضرم، يحتفل وكأنه مرهق يلعب مباراته الأولى في مسيرته.
