@Jriley_AFC@Timo_NFL Dude it’s sports, they could pop an Achilles in practice warming up, they’re not machines.
The players are vindictive why make the rules? If people wanted to hurt each other it’s obvious how, the ufc (and all the classes and YouTubes exist)
@Jriley_AFC@Timo_NFL Okay I guess we’re having the convo, the real issue isn’t the red, the issue is it’s a suspension for the next game as well, thats stupid, just is. They need more tiers for fouls in soccer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Timo_NFL Btw I’m not being difficult - I get why it was a red and I hate it. But my patriotism for my country supersedes any objective perspective and frankly it should.
Your industry exists because of passionate fans. And I’m happy for you, even if you don’t yet believe in Bo Nix
@Timo_NFL You’ll never see me rooting for anything but the USA, red white and blue is what I bleed for better or worse. I dont care how we win, id hope that it’s in the best and fair manner but winning is winning. Ask any big market baseball team that’s been paying for it for years.
@ckalu@idobadtakes Well that’s good to know, it’s still a “soccer play” in our eyes. We don’t send anyone off unless they try to fight an opponent as a general rule (targeting in college football is trending this direction and is a big issue in the USA)
Thank you for actually talking with my btw
@ckalu@idobadtakes Okay, but that’s also true for every second of the game. Any contact or non contact injury could end a career - guess we just have fun and don’t try to win all the time?
You have to try to protect players because they are stars and make money - but you’re not stopping injuries
@ckalu@AdamRuffPhoto Really it’s the game suspension that’s the problem for Americans - that’s unfathomable for us. It never happens short or a punch or fight.
Everything else is the spirit of competition and rewarded. It feels punitive in a weird way to us.
@ckalu@idobadtakes Is that still not bad? Physical sports naturally cause pain and injury - our society rewards toughness especially when there is obviously bodily harm. Our sports reflect that, your sports reflect something entirely different- tell me I’m wrong…
@ckalu@AdamRuffPhoto Okay that’s fair, but it’s clearly not called consistently. I think thats whats at the heart of the frustration here.
Imagine if every pass interference penalty was a 1+ game suspension like this was for the UMNT vs just a 15 yd penalty. Thats what’s most frustrating.
@eaejaizera@burritobritoboy@lipevieira Okay, but using your hand to block an obvious goal is is obviously meriting a game suspension - soccer movements in the support of the game that could potentially harm someone doesn’t rise to the same level of breaching fair play principles imo
@THEbadgermaniac@ksagendo But the reality is mainstream Americana will put up with Goodell’s bullshit because football is an awesome product. The USMNT may be an awesome product but @FIFAWorldCup isn’t. At least not in a way we can digest.
@eaejaizera@burritobritoboy@lipevieira You can break a bone walking down the stairs man, it’s sports, bad shit happens you can’t legislate it out of the game it’s a contact sport
@Nick___Collins Judge us all you want, we don’t give a shit, us caring is the best thing that can happen to soccer. But it does feel like bullshit compare to Messi. And if your argument is “watch more football” I promise you I won’t. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ do you want to grow your sport or not.
