@AndrewBartley @WalesOnline For many pupils who are not as academically gifted, the welsh bacc qualification gives them the points they need for further education. I agree that if you’re applying to Oxford or Cambridge then you probably won’t need it, but 95% gives plenty of choice.

@AndrewBartley @WalesOnline From reading other comments on this thread, it implies that the welsh bacc is a waste of time if you want to apply to university. This is not the case. I was pointing out that most universities do accept it as a recognised qualification for entry to university.
