@ZiplyFiber I’m not a premium account so I can’t DM. But network is down and account online isn’t loading. Tech support can’t even get a ticket to submit to help me. @AskZiplyFiber
"Why don't you just leave?" or "Why didn't you just leave?"
It's the question every survivor of domestic violence is asked, as if leaving had never crossed their mind before.
Dear @SouthwestAir - please bring direct flights from Eugene, OR to Spokane, WA and Eugene to San Diego, CA. These layovers taking me down to CA just to get to WA seem so silly. Also I’d love to not have a 5+ hour travel day in the same time zone. #TravelDreams#PrettyPlease
The feeling of "always being on duty" is real.
We must create boundaries and systems that heal the residual trauma that is left after of the duty phone rings, being all things to all people at all times, and exhaustion after incident reports.
There is so much MORE to talk about at 1/1s than just the student staff role. We must be comprehensive supervisors that desire to personally engage with our student staff.
We can incorporate scenarios of student staff burnt out, fatigue, and stress into Behind Closed Doors to help them understand that they are not alone in the journey.
Open conversations around mental health must happen in order for student staff to persist. #ACUHOI
“Opportunity does not mean stability.” Even when we provide the various resources and opportunities for students, it doesn’t give the same level of stability for our students. What does campus access mean esp when stability means being on campus - @DrMChatelain. #ACUHOI
I LOVE thinking of our halls and campus as an ecosystem. @DrMChatelain sharing the sense of liveliness in an ecosystem when students are in our halls and on our campuses. #ACUHOI
When we had to shut down quickly, where we live took on a different meaning. Outside of the traditional & consistent quality of life issues, students realized just how much their on-campus experience informed their sense of self & their college experience. @DrMChatelain#ACUHOI
When we talk about “re-opening” we need to acknowledge the past and what we all lived through. We can model to students that there is a way to keep the memory alive and enable us to move forward together. - @DrMChatelain#ACUHOI
We challenge the status quo. We are making decisions and changing who will be honored and how. It becomes a place that is steeped with meaning. We then see a different level of respect and engagement to our facilities. @DrMChatelain#ACUHOI
The names on buildings is not merely a fact of life, but shares the values of the institution and where that institution stands on their beliefs and practices. Students care about these names and the history of our buildings. - @DrMChatelain#ACUHOI
Students are asking “what does it mean for our values to be encapsulated by our signs and statues”. Students are taking notice and asking questions. They are tuning in and investing in a relationship with our physical halls and our campuses. - @DrMChatelain#ACUHOI
