🇳🇴🤯 A remarkable World Cup coincidence: in 1994, Erik Thorstvedt, Alf-Inge Haaland and Gøran Sørloth were part of Norway’s squad at the World Cup in the United States. Thirty-two years later, at the 2026 World Cup in North America, their sons — Kristian Thorstvedt, Erling Haaland and Alexander Sørloth — are representing Norway on the same stage.
🚨⚠️ OFFICIAL: Chelsea statement on Enzo Maresca.
“Chelsea FC appreciates the 2025/26 season was a hugely disappointing one for the Club and its supporters. A major contributing factor was the disruption caused as a result of changes that the Club was forced to make to the Head Coach position over the Christmas period”.
“Due to recent developments, we consider that it is important to explain to our supporters what happened and why our former Head Coach left the Club on 1 January 2026”.
“In Autumn last year, the Club was informed by our former Head Coach that there might be an opportunity for him to succeed Pep Guardiola at the end of the season”.
“It became clear to us that it was his strong desire to succeed Guardiola and that he was fully committed to pursuing the opportunity, despite the fact he was under a long-term contract which he had no right to terminate”.
“In December 2025, our Head Coach unexpectedly and abruptly resigned from his position. Obviously, we felt let down as we believed that his head and heart were focused on another club and another opportunity, despite having just arrived at Chelsea the year before”.
“No club wants to change its head coach midway through a season. However, in light of his decision not to continue fulfilling his responsibilities through to the end of the season, the Club was left with no choice but to protect our players, our supporters, and the Badge and accept his resignation”.
“In the circumstances and given the mutual respect between clubs, a confidential settlement has been reached with Manchester City, which includes the payment of compensation. A confidential settlement has also been reached with the former Head Coach under which he will pay compensation”.
I prefer jollof rice. No other country in Africa has more international trophies than Nigeria. From the Youth World Cups to Olympics. Even in Africa, few countries can match our football excellence. Or do you want me to brag about Our Super Falcons? In recent times we two Nigerian football superstars have won back to back African Player of the Year Awards. Italy didn't qualify for the World Cup and they have won it four times. Nigeria not qualifying was a big loss to FIFA, USA, Canada and Mexico. We have the population, the swag and the purchasing power.
Bitter? Jealous? Never. As a Nigerian, I have dealt with our absence from the World Cup and moved on. I am fully supporting ALL African countries (except South Africa) to go all the way. The truth however remains the truth. Africa has a long way to go to compete properly. Only African country that has developed properly is Morocco. They have a remarkable team and structure (when they are not stealing towels).
Messi a veces fue muy criticado en Argentina, pero en España habia un tipo que le tenia más fe que nadie.
El Lobo Carrasco, nunca me voy a olvidar de este tipazo, fue mas argentino que muchos sin tener una gota de sangre Argentina.
"He is the best ever to have done it, I don't care what anyone says." 🐐 🇦🇷
Ian Joy explains why Lionel Messi is the greatest player to ever touch a football 🤩
@Adesxiqx@Wizarab10 No you cant. Ivory Coast does not have the attacking and fighting spirit. This was evident when they lost to Germany. The Norwegians have the fighting spirit and extremely capable players to deliver.
