ASTRO is deeply disturbed by the inaccurate, inappropriate, and irresponsible NBC News piece on IORT. We feel this story harms care for breast cancer patients & have strongly rebutted it through our Breast Cancer Resource Panel & a letter from ASTRO CEO, Vivek S Kavadi, MD to NBC News.

EBRT is conspicuously absent, while TACE, with ~50% local failure rates, continues to be elevated despite having some of the worst LF rates of any so-called “local control” modality across oncology. We can do better. #HCC
BCLC best for prognostication, not treatment algorithms.
@ChristopherACSM Are we being honest with ourselves about the proportion of men this truly affects?
Over 40% of American men are obese... i don't think we are training so hard that we are infertile
🤯Taming the 🦁: Proton Therapy for Severe Leonine Facies from cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL)🤯
🔥RT is incredibly effective for symptom palliation from CTCL!
Simply put - RT in this case enabled a new opportunity and “new view” at independent life

🔥Scanning Proton Arc Therapy (SPArc) SFRT!🔥
In-silico study shows that SPArc, when compared with VMAT or IMPT, is associated with:
✅Steeper high dose gradients
⬇️Gradient indices
✅Faster treatment time
🔎TBL: SPArc dosimetry may theoretically enhance the effects of SFRT
This is really cool.
I once saw a pilot IMPT/Arc Lattice plan a couple years ago and the treatment time was much longer than VMAT.
Here IMPT delivery is faster.
I have a lady with T2b NSCLC of the RLL. Tumor is a little thick, and moves quite a bit, and is adjacent to proximal bronchial tree.
I proposed hypofractionated radiation with 15 fractions [70Gy in 15].
@evicorehc denied the case and would not even allow a peer review.
