Been reading a lot of people posting about @alcratz's game R.U.S.H (available for free or donation at https://t.co/9jjyAMU60X) and it's been incredible to see the posts, streams and talks people have been having about it.
One main part of the discussions that I've really enjoyed seeing is the reason why people are enjoying such a simplified version of a 3D fighting game with similar traits to Tekken - without the mix-ups, extra moves, stance transitions, and 50/50's. Keeping the focus on strategy of timing, move choice, opponent neutralisation and adaptation, aiming for much less of a mental impact with constant evaluation of an aggressors next move.
The game chooses to ask the question "How do I, in this space, manage my approach and get damage on my opponent without being damaged". I can say I've been enjoying that a lot myself, even fighting people that are magnitudes of ability beyond my own. It feels reasonable for my brain to structure and learn, rather than have to have an ambiguous path of studying my opponents by predicting their next choice probability to have my turn to be the aggressor.
I might be wrong in how I've summarised it, and open to see how other people interpret it. It's extremely captivating to understand the various perspectives others bring to this difference of competitive gaming in this sphere.
While I did join the FGC more in depth during Tekken 8, I'm glad it's spawned ideas and projects such as this identifying what brings us entertainment in fighting games.
A shame TK8 added so much VFX to everything, that even a blue spark and new voiceline can't make this cool/difficult technique stand out.
To someone that don't understand the game much, it doesn't look any more special than anything else that happens in the game.
I can control your balance PART 2
I made a device that sends DC current through my head to stimulate my vestibular nerve (called galvanic vestibular stimulation or GVS) and, in doing so, can make me feel completely destabilised. By changing the direction of the current, it can make me fall in that direction.
BUT NOW, I mapped the telemetry of an in-game plane and synced it to the balance device, so that the g-forces experienced by someone in the plane would be proportional to mine in real life.
So cool imo

Highguard looks to be toast:
- Revealed they faked indie/self-funded status, was Tencent funded all along.
- Website is GONE.
- You can't even list it as a game on Youtube now.
Was this actually faster than Concord's implosion? Or just bigger?
@BigLadGreen@XH_Lee23 Assuming not CGI, it just looks like they're replaying recorded animation instructions... Like mocap for movies and video games, which if that's the case means much less for general capability.
Will aussies ever come to guam to play in tournaments? Prob not
Will they ever come to Manila madness ? No cuz they can’t afford it
Meanwhile guam to Manila is 300-500 a flight lol
Reddit user claims that they've figured out what causes Monster Hunter Wilds performance issues – and it's kind of wild.
According to their investigation:
• Owning more DLC = more FPS
• This is due to an aggressive check the game does to see what DLC you own
• It is NOT intentional by Capcom but this constant check causes performance dips
• The user created a mod that tricks the game into thinking you own all DLC and noticed immediate improvements
• All information has been sent to Capcom support
• This same user has already already helped Capcom solve a performance issue in Dragon's Dogma 2

Dono goal reached! @Subject000016 is going to Evo JP!
OCE has always been held back by how hard it is to travel. Being able to use my platform to help give these chances and give back to the players who helped get me where I am means a lot. Massive thanks to everyone who donated!
