@jollyheretic I believe the UK is psrt of an informal redistribution agreement with the EU and this ‘smash the gangs’ narrative is political gaslighting. The gangs are NGOs funded by governments who are in place to implement a supra national policy. I don’t think this is controversial anymore

@afneil There cannot be a reasonable or moral case for reducing or eliminating the state pension before there has been the long overdue conversation with respect to public sector pensions. Presumably the govt could reduce or stop paying these too?

The avarage public pensions you cite sre not representative - include part time or low service terms. The actual costs are huge.
