The Cleveland then-Indians held a “Larry Doby Day” on July 5, 2017, to mark the 70th anniversary of his debut and have designed every July 5 since than as Larry Doby Day.
Major League Baseball should adopt this day league-wide.

During Larry Doby's Hall of Fame speech, he said, “You had to be something extra to make it through those early days.”
Doby, in case you didn't know, broke the AL color barrier mere weeks after Robinson did so in the NL.
Designate July 5 as Larry Doby Day @MLB.
Larry Doby passed away on June 18, 2003, in Montclair, New Jersey, at age 79. He lived long enough to know he'd made an impact on the game of Major League Baseball, but there is still so much more @MLB can do to honor his historic career.
Designate July 5 as Larry Doby Day.
