The High Court QUASHED HELB’s insane Ksh. 540,000 penalties against a borrower.
In Mugure & 2 Others v HELB (2021), a student borrowed KES 82,000 but HELB ballooned it to KES 540,000.

HELB claimed the in duplum rule didn’t apply to them because it was not a Bank and but a statutory lender
The Court disagreed.

The in duplum rule binds EVERY lender, including HELB.Don't pay more than twice the principal!

Kenya Railways @KenyaRailways_ your Kenrail Towers is a public health hazard. All the toilets on 4 commercial floors are broken down, locked or in disrepair. Hundreds of Customers and tenants are forced to go the Moven Pick hotel washrooms. Please repair your toilets @HonMosiria

It’s very refreshing not to bombed by betting ads on Kenyan media @BettingBclb. Our fm stations had gone overboard. The hosts were neutered. They were made to talk about betting 70% of the time and the reminder was shallow commentary.

All I wanted to know is if the LMIA was genuine so that I could prevent a fraud. The fraud succeeded!
