@ENirenberg A lot of this is fraught with generational conflicts. An illness that takes a few months to get over - and this emphatically has happened in younger cohorts who were in the back of the line for vaccines - can cast a long shadow over one's life, even with full recovery.
@ndnpro64 @acnewsitics No she wasn't. Her parents were here legally on student visas and became citizens before she turned 18. They were always "under the jurisdiction" of the US.
@CorsIAQ The risk of in-flight transmission of one disease is nothing compared to the inherent epidemiological risk created by air travel. Pathogens can't travel thousands of miles in a matter of hours without airplanes. βοΈs are solely responsible for making local diseases into pandemics
@DALupton If they thought immunity debt was going to be such an issue, why weren't these people promoting a mass vaccine catch-up campaign for a range of diseases as part of re-opening?
@SaraPatter62220@jfmouthonlegs I kind of want to see an episode where Tegan flips the script on the Mara & uses it as a superpower that can be used to defeat, oh, I dunno....Sutekh
@AllyKeyLime Except for the the first half of 2020, I've been going to the dentist 4x a year (periodontal issues) and didn't get covid until October 2023 (six weeks after my last dental visit)
@AllyKeyLime I feel like dentists are more conscious about controlling the spread of airborne pathogens than we give them credit for - simply because they've been at it longer, of necessity
@KindrachukJason I mean EF-D's argument is "stockpile antivirals before everyone else does" is obviously morally bankrupt even if you don't know anything about public health
