I don't interact with pokemon tcg in person all that much but it's interesting to see relative prices for other tcgs and see what they consider "pricy". Just to add on to the riffle shuffle expensive cards, I do that with my legacy lands deck in mtg

played against someone at a regional who refused to let me shuffle/cut their deck and demanded a Judge do it since their deck was "too expensive" and wanted to protect the value

he had 4 SIR Ionos... meanwhile i had 4 of these that i was riffling to hell

@dominharvia Had an opponent at an recq where in game 2, the only 2 lands they saw were 2 field of ruins. Granted they never saw a 3rd land but those 2 lands didn't cast a single card in their hand...

Draw was from the mirror. Opponent was effectively dead in 2 turns due to a Kaya that was going up each turn and them being on 9 life with no more Omnaths in deck. Not sure if I could have won earlier but what happened happened.

Played Niv at an RCQ yesterday and went x-1-1 in the swiss to top 8. Lost the first match to phoenix after flooding out. Deck was still fun to play. Main takeaway from it though was I need to play quicker in the mirror.
