Now that I am coaching full time, I have created more space for my three hour workshops on healthy, sustainable writing productivity. There workshops are the core of what I teach coaching clients are the essentials I have distilled from two decades of this work.
I can now confidently say I've mastered both Python and R and here is what I've learned:
As far as data science is concerned, the only thing that matters about a programming language is whether anybody has already written that package you need.
People often think the most important part of science is the statistical analysis.
But theyโre wrong.
The most important part is understanding the data. Who collected it, when, where, why, how, and from whom? Who entered and cleaned it, when, where, why, how, and for whom?
