I am no fan of President ED Mnangagwa, but I completely agree with him regarding gatekeepers and healthcare cartels,there must be a limit to such greed. I have written several times about how these healthcare cartels are crippling our already struggling system and jeopardising patients’ lives. However, each time I raise this issue, I face fierce resistance from those benefiting from this ridiculous looting,individuals from both the government and the opposition.

How can anyone wish to prosper by compromising patient care? Where is the conscience in doing this? Every time I bring up this matter, I receive countless testimonies from ordinary citizens who are victims of these gatekeepers and cartels. This crisis must be approached beyond political affiliations and emotional attachments. We need to address it collectively as Zimbabwean citizens, guided by the spirit of Ubuntu.

You cannot blame ED, RGM, Chiwenga, the military, etc., for killing innocent citizens and, in the same breath, be part of gatekeeping medicines and selling them at a higher price at your private practice, depriving poor citizens of access to medicine. You are a killer yourself!
