While listening to Finnish President Alexander Stubb call for strikes against Russian targets deep inside Russia, remember what Finland has sacrificed in the process.
Finland abandoned decades of military neutrality and fundamentally transformed its security policy without giving the Finnish people a direct vote on that historic decision.

Now, instead of remaining outside the most dangerous military confrontation in Europe, Finland has placed itself directly on the front line.
Calls to escalate attacks on Russian territory are not some cost-free exercise in political rhetoric, they risk provoking retaliation and exposing Finnish cities, infrastructure, and civilians to consequences that could be devastating.

A decision supposedly made in the name of security could ultimately make Finland a battlefield.
And if escalation spirals out of control, it will not be politicians sitting safely in their offices who pay the highest price. It will be ordinary Finnish families.

While the Finnish President once again unleashes his reckless warmongering rhetoric, remember there is nothing courageous about gambling with an entire nation’s security while others bear the consequences.....
