@anshelsag @rebmasel Anecdotally this also presents itself on some of the Facebook groups I admin: in the form of the people who are capable of blocking accounts they don't want to interact with, and the people who yell at admins for not doing that for them by banning from the group. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@rebmasel We grew up with the internet, we had to learn how to cut through the bullshit because there were no algorithms to guide us and we've seen how things have evolved. The younger generation have only lived in the algorithmic age where choices are made for them.

Although, certainly it holds true for many individuals who do manage to hold on to power. When faced with substantive decisions, they will do whatever maintains whatever power they think they have. (It was easy to write those weekly essays.)

I think it's largely a human thing.
