3 months ago I met a Vietnamese speaking patient. He was on oxygen for uncontrolled COPD and I struggled with the Vietnamese. We just spent 30 minutes vigorously debating about inhalers in Vietnamese and he didn't need to stop to rest. Progress for both of us! #MedTwitter

Trying to get a patient a 3 month supply of meds. Told I need a PA. Submitted PA. Told to call PBM. Called PBM, transferred to specialty PA dept who transferred me to commercial PA dept who told me no PA needed, talk to customer care. Will my patient get her meds? #medicine

I recently had a perfect family medicine day. Pretended I was a cat with a toddler, walked a woman through her first pap and birth control, did PrEP counseling, celebrated reaching a goal A1c, and helped transition a patient to hospice. A great day. #FMRevolution
@DrSiyabMD @emergcasey That would be me lol. I work for an FQHC with high needs low resources. Getting an SVT to go the ED at all is an accomplishment. Ambulance? Not a chance.
I need to go to bed but keep thinking about how the Oscars Best Picture is about an Asian girl who searches across the multiverse for a version of her mom who would understand and accept her and I just canβt stop crying
@Medical_Niyi π― I pushed myself to go to volleyball every week no matter what rotation I was on and it was the best day of the week. I even made friends outside of medicine!
Dirty (not so little) secret? Hospitals balance their labor costs largely on the backs of nursing staff. Nursing is viewed as an expense rather than the literal reason patients are admitted to the hospital.
