@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 For me it is kind of hard to tell whether Joel's decision was selfish or not. Does Ellie simply suffer from survivor's guilt or is her willingness to die for the greater good actually legitimate?
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 The suggestion that they'd probably be friends is kind of odd considering that Sara would be in her 30s by now. This makes me think that Joel doesn't like to think about what person Sara could've been.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 When Joel is confronted with the suggestion that Ellie would want to have the surgery he seems to struggle with himself for a second before he shoots. I wonder whether he actually agrees.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I liked that they added the giraffes in spite of the fact that it doesn't add to the story. It makes sense that "exotic" animals would be seen roaming the new world as they probably don't have any natural predators apart from the remaining humans.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I thought it was interesting that Joel initially refused to take the picture of him and Sarah. He was downright upset the first time it was offered to him. However, in this chapter he accepts it and even thanks Ellie.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 This chapter really higlighted the character development of both Ellie and Joel as both did something out of character. Joel offers to teach Ellie how to play guitar and she doesn't seem remotely enthusiastic about it.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I was surprised that playing Ellie feels more 'badass' than playing Joel. My expectations were probably exceeded because up until this point we spent most of our time protecting Ellie instead of fighting with her.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 A simple change of the environment can add another degree of intensity. Fighting in a snow storm is definitely a nice addition to the gameplay.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I had to google the meaning of the word 'negentropy' but when I did I was pleasantly surprised by how vaguely it related to the entire course of the game.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 This is probably one of my favorite scenes in the game so far. When Joel is injured during one of the fights it seems like Ellie instantly matures by an entire decade and manages to get both of them (somewhat) out of a dire situation.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I like how strategically some of these fights can be approached. By intentionally missing an arrow shot all the zombies are drawn to the same spot where they can be wiped out with a single molotov.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 When Joel explained that students used their time at university to figure out what they wanted to do in life Elllie repeats Joel's words under her breath. It makes perfect sense that it never occured to her that people used to plan their lives.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I have noticed that during some of the fighting sequences the player doesn't even have to do anything. The player's allies will end up killing all the enemies and one can save ammunition/health.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 Earlier in the Chapter Joel said something along the lines of "Things happen and we move on", he doesn't seem to be merely preaching that line but also live by it.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I am continuously surprised by how the deveplopers implemented so many conversations with seemingly no relevance towards the story.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I love how the developer's revealed the fact that Sam had been infected. Especially the fact that they revealed it after a conversation were Ellie declared that she doesn't really believe that the zombies are still human or that heaven exists.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 Aside from Ellie's joke I keep laughing at how the developer's highlighted the difference in upbringing between the older and the younger generation. Ellie literally can't fathom that ice cream trucks existed.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 After having played Joel for a while now I realized that I genuinely had no idea at this scene wether Joel was going to shoot Henry or not. I think it's great that a game can still do that 6 chapters in.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 I was really surprised to see an hommage for one of my favorite Playstation2 games ever - Jak and Daxter - also created by Naughty Dog.
@PlayingUs#PlayingWithTheEnd19 Throughout the game you can really see the determination of the creators to decorate the environment with references to the same movie over and over again.
