It was great that Bordeaux and the CFB community forced EA to remove paywalled content that was free last year, however it transpires that EA didn't reinstate the content, they just removed it in a "if you wont pay for it you just wont get it at all then" move.
I think this speaks volumes to the reality of a community ACTUALLY being able to force change, because although the removal of the MTX here is good, the fact that EA didn't get their way with it means they just removed the content all together.
A lot of FC creators and community members pushed a LOT of shit towards other creators for not doing enough "when we had the chance" - and used this instance as a battering ram back up that narrative, but the reality is (and always was) - that EA will do what EA want, and there's nothing we can do about it.
I really thought the CFB community had broken new grounds with EA in this regard, but EA's greed knows no bounds. Sad.
@BlackPulsee@CutnPaid They’re either falling for it anyway or they’re in on it man. Cause theirs a lot of people on here being negative lol. Gotta be because the OP know people who hate Kai doesn’t actually want to watch an entire clip of him talking so they take the captions word for it, it’s crazy
If you think the microtransactions aren’t a big deal right now I need you to understand the design of CFB games will fundamentally change forever to get more and more out of the consumer. Modes will get worse and more grindy so you spend more. Features will be taken away to make room for this stuff. We have evidence all across the gaming world. Don’t let this happen to our game. #CFBPlayDontPay
@MetalBadgerAN@ETGEACOLLEGE Don’t think that’s gonna change. The taking away xp sliders to push us to buy the micro transactions was the real problem. But don’t get me wrong them being there in the first place still isn’t right.
@CazTheTitan@EASPORTSCollege Man with the last few days on this app, people won’t try to hear you, it’s just like the equipment movement. Guys are so angry that they direct anger at anyone even the people who are apart of the movement, but since they didn’t use the hashtag…you get it.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but as far as #CFBPlayDontPay goes...
Attacking creators for either not tweeting out the hashtag or not tagging @EASPORTSCollege in their tweets is NOT at ALL conducive towards getting rid of microtransactions in offline modes.
Redirect that energy towards the greedy executives who called for them to be in the game, not at creators and certainly not at devs who have no control over that.
Focus on the people who are ACTUALLY DIRECTLY responsible for them existing.
@4EyesMMA@bordeauxyoutube Guess instead of focusing on who really matters. We’re just gonna find drama and attack people. It’s not even like mans is against the movement because he said he doesn’t agree with it. Him being on the fence doesn’t hurt the movement guys, stop starting drama it doesn’t help
Threw the devs under the bus.
Threw the EA creators under the bus.
The community is livid and friendly fire is already happening because we can’t even direct our anger at the right people.
@uninfite07199@BengalYouTube@EASPORTSCollege This has to be the dumbest take on this I’ve seen on here. Id give u the benefit of the doubt and say you could be an EA burner account, but even they would have some sense. Give us a break man, no one is mad that building schools got harder to do brother 😂👍
“Just don’t buy the micro transactions”
“It’s in an offline mode, who cares”
These people are missing the entire crux of the reason that this is a problem. These billion dollar corporations will do anything, steep to any low, to squeeze every last dollar out of its own player base
Creators like @bordeauxyoutube and @NotTheExpertYT are essentially putting their careers on the line to say “enough is enough”. They both have my respect forever
Nothing will change unless we, as fans, declare in one voice that this is unacceptable
#CollegeFootball27 #EASports #CFBPlayDontPay
@KurtBenkert Unfortunately they’ll still shit on you because you didn’t put the hashtag, but I’m at least glad u acknowledge that what they’re doing isn’t right.
@Vell_3rd@wariocolosseum I dont care how it came out tbh. What I don’t understand is how ur gonna tell me to let people say what they want but also tell me I cant suggest people to do other wise. Is it actually wrong to suggest ppl do not downplay someone’s success because they don’t like it themselves?
@Vell_3rd@wariocolosseum Well if we’re gonna tell each other which “opinion” is right or wrong we’ll go in circles. I gave a suggestion to block out content that u don’t like and thats it. Not really saying u shouldn’t post ur opinion. I just believe negative posts like this doesn’t nothing good thats it
@Vell_3rd@wariocolosseum You right that I could’ve just scrolled past this one too, but it’s also my “opinion” that these “I dont appeal” POSTS have no meaning other than to downplay someone’s success. And I’m not only going at OP, the comments are the real stars in the why I made my original comment
@Vell_3rd@wariocolosseum I have opinions. Some opinions I keep to myself because it’s not needed, like saying “I don’t understand the appeal to some I don’t like personally” if there’s someone that I don’t like on here I just scroll unless it’s someone that actually have negative effect on ppl.
@liamcoenszn@MillsTwitch@ScottOGallagher He’s not in charge of micro transactions. Yes he promotes the game but that’s his job. It’s not that hes defending him really, he’s trying to point you to who is really to blame for this. Yea he’s in charge of putting it in the game but the ppl ABOVE HIM probably told him to.
Wait until CFB 28 where they make you pay to put on gear in RTG.
This already has happened in 2k and Madden, don't think it's just a XP thing. This might be our only chance to prevent greed from fulling taking over.
CFB 27 might be the last EA title I purchase. Modders will keep that game alive for another decade just like CFBR.
