Thrilled to welcome these 22 leaders to Cohort 9 of the @PIEnetwork Leadership Institute! After their year-long experience, they'll join over 180 alumni who are leading efforts across the US to improve outcomes & opportunities for students. (Let the cohort competition begin! 😉) https://t.co/yPRCmJDhvJ
Very excited to welcome a cohort of Math Liberators this fall into Oakland classrooms. Parents and caregivers have a role to play in addressing the math crisis. Please share these paid tutor roles widely!
Hey Oakland! Get ready for a MathBOOST!
We’re excited to partner with @OUSDNews again to upskill parents and caregivers from our communities to become paid tutors, providing high-dosage tutoring to our students across Oakland.

This is what developing powerful parent leaders looks like. Week 3 of the @NashvillePropel Literacy Institute. The room was packed. HOW CONFIDENT ARE YOU WITH HELPING YOUR CHILD GET BETTER AT READING? #losingsleep#AngrylikeSonya
@Sonyathemom@NashvillePropel So much learning and leadership development will take place in that room! Can’t wait for the seats to be filled with parents wanting to do right by their children.
#TONIGHT: @SA_MindshiftED is hosting a candlelight vigil for literacy as they say 82% of the 3rd graders are no reading on grade level at JT Brackenridge elementary in @SAISD
64% of @FortWorthISD students are reading behind grade level. Powerful, honest conversation between @TrenaceDorsey and @MayorMattie who commits to using her mayoral influence to keep the focus on citywide literacy. @Parent_Shield
Got to witness these powerful words from @lacrob last night as she held space with a theater full of Nashville parents fired up about literacy for their kids @NashvillePropel
So grateful for the chance to work with and learn from @LakishaYoungCEO and @TheOaklandREACH every day. "Remarkable" doesn't even begin to describe you and the impact you have had on Oakland students! Congrats! https://t.co/QLkFqptMYW
I am grateful for the chance to work with these Literacy Liberators and am so excited to see them step into Oakland classrooms! It's awesome to see parents and families creating solutions for the literacy crisis.
We build solutions, and that's what makes the @TheOaklandREACH different. Thank you to @KPIXtv and @KennyKPIX for spotlighting our incredible Literacy Liberators!

Last week, Oakland voters passed our measure to give non-citizen families the right to vote in school board elections! I am so proud of our parent leaders who fought for this over the past year. Every family deserves a vote. Period. I hope more cities follow suit! @OUSDNews
These parents live in Oakland, pay taxes, send their kids to public school but, under current law, they cannot vote in school board elections. They deserve political representation. We are working to change this reality. On November, 8th, vote Yes on S, Oaklanders!
Our campaign to give non-citizen parents the right to vote in Oakland's school board elections was recognized with a "Power to the People" award from the @PIENetwork. Here's a pic of some of those "powerful people" leading this work: immigrant moms and dads across Oakland
Proud to support @TheOaklandREACH as parents demand a seat at the table for upcoming contract negotiations between the teachers’ union and the school district.
