It's bittersweet to say it's my last day at KSNT
The last three years have been quite the ride, but wouldn't have been possible without the wonderful people around me
Here's my sappy sign off from 27 News at 10 tonight
Thank you NE Kansas. It has truly been a pleasure 🫶
“It’s not a democracy it’s a republic” is one of the most irritating and pedantic retorts that makes the person saying it feel smart and superior, but is actually just a telltale sign that the person — whether a liberal or conservative — is annoying & probably not that bright.
@QuikTrip Breakfast sausage wrapped in a chocolate chip pancake.
I don't know how that would taste, but they didn't go to the moon because it was easy.
For transparency - the 27 Sports team was not permitted to make trips to the NCAA tournament
That, and I've been bed-ridden with the flu
Our coverage online has been through Zooms, media portals and a passion we have for these teams. We're not there, but we're doing what we can
It should bother you that multiple members of the House bragged about passing a budget provision that wasn’t in the legislation. It’s a reminder that many congresspeople don’t read or even get an accurate summary of the bills they vote on. We pay these people. Insane.
I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning:
I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages.
We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.
There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job.
I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.
I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction.
I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void.

had to write this out to fully appreciate how cringey it is: "I... I am become meme. Yea, pretty much. I'm just I'm living the meme, you know it's like there's living the dream and there's living the meme and that's pretty much what's happening ya know....heh"
We stand with the @AP which is resisting government pressure attempting to dictate how it writes about the news. This is exactly what the founders had in mind when they crafted the First Amendment.
Cleaning out the waste and fraud on my hard drive. LMAO what is System32? It was created on December 31st 1969? Before computers were invented? Nice try Bill Gates, time to save myself 700 kb.
