Love MON and consider him right up there in my favourite all time Celts. Cant help but feel a functioning football club would have let him sail off into the sun set on the highest of highs though.
Hopefully he’s still got some magic dust left.
Choosing to cope hard about this even though the football has been unconscionably bad in 2026.
I’ll take another year of MON because
1) the bar is hell
2) he’s not Keane
3) this is likely the only possible appointment with anything resembling sway over what happens upstairs
Martin O'Neill has agreed to become Celtic's manager on a permanent basis, following talks with Dermot Desmond in London.
The 74-year-old will sign a one-year contract, with the option of a further year.

In 2023, Robbie Keane was managing Maccabi Tel Aviv while Gaza was being flattened. During that period, the team's players were shown a motivational video featuring Israeli soldiers and club staff firing rockets during attacks on Palestinians.
Celtic supporters are absolutely right not to want someone like that in charge of their team.
There’s literally nothing that we won’t deep fat fry. It’s also a fuckin miracle there’s a Scotsman alive over the age of 45. Best cuisine in the fuckin world
Let Martin O’Neill enjoy his retirement and maybe aim higher than a manager who finished second in the Hungarian league. That doesn’t seem too difficult.
If Robbie Keane wasn’t Irish & didn’t have a connection to Celtic his name wouldn’t be uttered in conversation for the job.
The 45 year old came second in a one horse race after spending ten times more than the side who won the title.
It would be so obviously Celtic to go here.
