Wondering what I've been up to? Since September I've been with Brighton Museums and just posted an introduction to my position as a graduate conservator.

This “remember how wonderful Troy was” discourse is crazy. Troy sucked. Terrible as an Illiad adaptation, terrible as a historic epic, terrible as a movie. They put llamas and airplanes in Ancient Greece fcol

I am sickened by the relentless demonisation of refugees.
No refugee underfunded a school.
No refugee closed a hospital.
No refugee took away support from the sick and disabled.
We need solutions not scapegoats. Stop blaming refugees and tax the rich instead!
The refugees of today are our doctors, carers, teachers and neighbours of tomorrow.
Above all, they are human beings worthy of compassion, dignity and respect.

Generative ai. You mean generative ai. Not all ai. PLEASE fucking stop doing this, NOT ALL AI IS BAD. you’re not helping by spreading overbroad generalizations on the internet tht aren’t factually correct. Its not semantics when it *really fucking does make a material difference*
Really good to see a #museum exploring the concepts of ownership and repatriation directly. One for the bucket list.
