As we have said at every Nowruz since I can remember: next year we will be back. I trust that hope finally comes to fruition. نور بر تاریکی پیروز خواهد شد

Devastated to share the news that was broken to colleagues at @UoNMusic (and other departments) at @UniofNottingham yesterday. This is obviously a very difficult time for us and our students.
Please contact us on [email protected] if you would like to be involved @ucu
Exquisite playing from Christian Blackshaw @wigmore_hall last night. Enjoy it again free here:

Unbelievable soft dynamics and always melodic playing, lines continually singing. The C minor Schubert Impromptu (D. 899) particularly devastating. Thank you!
The climax of Lever du Jour saw one man with six people on him: four sitting/standing on his shoulders, and two hanging from them. So astounding. One's breath was taken away, by that extraordinary musical peak and the mind-blowing physicality at the same time.
What a sensational evening from @LPOrchestra (and chorus) and @CircaPresents. Ravel's glorious Daphnis et Chloé taken to new heights (literally), thrilling with the gravitational potential of the score made visual - and so much staggering virtuosity.
Sure many listeners are enjoying Record Review of the Century on @BBCRadio3 as much as I am. @andrewCDmcg is a consummate broadcaster. Maybe today can encourage R3 & @classicjacko to reinstate #RecordReview to its time-honoured Saturday morning slot & restore its proper length?
@PetrocTrelawny@BBCRadio3 Thank you for many wonderful breakfasts! You'll be missed. If Home Thoughts from Abroad is coming up, perhaps Richard Rodney Bennett's cover of Clifford T. Ward's song might fit in? https://t.co/QOFQGjoPIZ
@PetrocTrelawny@BBCRadio3@BBCSounds Thank you for the Alexander ('Sandy') Goehr, too - who sadly died yesterday, 26 August: 66 years to the day after Ralph Vaughan Williams passed away.
Aside from the horrible expression ("constructing repairs"; "work started [...] and expected"), what would the Victorians who built this cemetery have thought of the timeframe? 10 months to repair a wall?! @lb_southwark#nunhead#victorian
I was charmed by the recycling of this poignant image by #dhlawrence: The White Peacock (his first novel, 1906-11) and Piano (poem, 1906-11; published 1913).
