“How can an obligation to care for your child be dependent on having the option to abstain from that obligation? This contradicts what it means to be obligated in the first place.”
My latest concerning yesterday’s landmark case.

@scottklusendorf Although God is the necessary grounding for human value, I’m not sure that’s necessary to point out. God is necessary to ground the existence of the universe, but most recognize the universe exists, despite ignorance of what grounds it. It might create an extra hoop to jump thru.
This is monstrous, Congressman Thanedar. We have our dignity and basic rights--human rights--in virtue of our humanity, not age, size, or stage of development, anymore than race, sex, or ethnicity. Human dignity is inherent, not acquired. All of us have it, and we have it from the point at which we come into being; we do not lose it except by ceasing to be (i.e., by dying). On this principle--that of the profound, inherent, and equal dignity of each and every member of the human family--all else depends. It is the foundational principle of justice. If we bandon it, then all other claims of justice are rendered arbitrary ... and Thracymachus wins.
@ElonMuskSucks97@xan_desanctis It is implausible to claim a child does not belong in the place she began to exist and the only place she can survive: in the nurture and care her mother’s body naturally provides.
Size, consciousness, self-awareness, and capacity for pain are completely arbitrary markers of personhood and would justify killing large numbers of people in addition to unborn children.
@KristanHawkins We at least agree on this: it is always wrong to intentionally kill an innocent human being. I think we also agree he was intentionally killed, given he was shot nine times. So the question is, if he was not “innocent” for you in this scenario, what was his capital crime?
@TheFP The curious result is a Supreme Court that has no intention of arriving at justice. To debate the role of a judge is to presume they have obligations, aka moral duties. But how can you say a judge has a moral duty to, at times, uphold an unjust(aka immoral) law? It is incoherent.

On the role of judges, Justice Amy Coney Barrett writes, “They are referees, not kings, because they decide whether people have played by the rules rather than what the rules should be.” Read her full piece here: https://t.co/NewprhYtUn
I am thankful The Federalist published my words defending the worth and dignity of unborn children. Sadly, they have become a publication that merely parrots every Trump position, no matter how asinine.
@RealMattFradd Motherhood requires existence. Mary was not the mother of the preexisting second person of the trinity in 12,000 BC. She did not yet exist.
Jesus didn’t always have 2 natures. He took on a 2nd (human) nature at the incarnation.
1 should be revised to add: In his second nature.
Between saving some and saving none, to reject an incremental approach is to reject saving some. Are you for saving unborn children in China? Then why bother trying to save only the unborn in the United States? I suspect you are also an incrementalist. Bloom where you’re planted.
Some Pro-Life leaders mock abolitionists because we have yet to pass a bill.
Meanwhile, they have passed hundreds of bills but there are even more babies being murdered.
Which is worse?
Read @EsotericCD@NRO: "the most obvious reason that Matt Gaetz should not, and cannot, become attorney general of the United States is that he is quite likely a statutory rapist." https://t.co/RU0v6ys8aQ
Hello,
I had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in a state with an abortion ban, just weeks after Dobbs. This did not happen. What you are doing isn’t “informing.” It’s terrifying women in my exact situation into not getting care. This is horrifying, triggering, and a complete lie.
Yes, sometimes babies do survive abortions. But these babies can defy the odds – if they are only given a chance.
