Thank you to my boss, City Manager Jeffrey James for co-authoring this piece for the April edition of the Texas Town & City Magazine, official publication of the @TML_Texas Municipal League.
As a @WSPDTX public safety team, we have worked really hard to prioritize crime fighting strategies coupled with community engagement initiatives and strategic media avenues to create sustainable economic growth opportunities in our commercial and residential sectors.
With a crime rate that has plummeted 31% since 2021 and a re-focus on branding the town's history and geographic proximity as a strength, hundreds of new homes and multiple million-dollar reinvestments of existing commercial projects and the addition of new large-scale commercial properties is having a positive result on great economic growth and outlook for the future.
Special thanks to Mayor Faron Young and City Council for their continued support on these opportunities across town.
Great to speak with Texas Municipal League members about how their priorities dovetail into my work to improve affordability, infrastructure, and housing in the Lone Star State.
I am proud to represent nearly 32 million Texans & will continue to do my part to make life easier for Texas families and businesses, including by passing laws like the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.
