They had slavery too. Isn't that the "secret sauce" to a nation's economic success, according to you and other DEI scholars?

Let me help you do something we call "thinking."

The industrialized northern states defeated the southern agrarian states and ended the abominable practice at a time when slavery was still common around the world.

Not only that, but if you bothered to do this thing we call "read," you would know the Founders abhorred slavery and devised ways to ultimately end it.

Indeed, the Declaration of Independence itself contains the philosophical seeds to end slavery, and Thomas Jefferson himself, who inherited slaves, wrote a draft declaration condemning it.

You know what got in the way of ending slavery right then and there? Real-world politics.

if the northern states and the southern states did not reach a compromise, the entire union would fall apart and become vulnerable to predatory European powers.

I know it's much more fun for you to smugly revise history to fit your asinine narratives, but do us all a service and stop weighing in on subjects you are not qualified to discuss in the court of public opinion.
