The first nonviolent march in Salema was to the courthouse. It turned south when the white sheriff of the town became too aggressive with a black man and my girl Oprah stepped in and helped! Still, the event made the front page gaining attention to the cause. #MESelma18

Even though segregation was illegal in Alabama at this time, the town of Selma didn't care. The Social Justice system was still corrupt and was controlled by all whites.
