Kudos to the City of Toronto for erecting this new sign at Hanlan’s Point: Canada’s oldest queer space.
At a time when #2SLGBTQ+ rights and equity are under increasing threat, it’s incumbent upon us — as queer people, citizens, and allies — to affirm queer spaces and the inclusive values they embody.
Values prefaced on acceptance, respect, dignity, diversity — and if I might add, perseverance against incredible odds.
Thank you @cityoftoronto. We need to raise more signs like this in our city in order to better honour our history and educate the public. #topoli #onpoli #cdnpoli
instead of having a credit score everyone should be assigned a library card at birth, and the card is good for libraries all over the nation and there are prizes for having read a certain number of books.
@maggiekenney@thewalrus I fully support public libraries. They are valuable, but they need to understand where their limits are in terms of service to the public. They need to really evaluate where stand around "being for all". They can't be.
@maggiekenney@thewalrus The deep fear and lack of support when working front line during the pandemic with people in deep crises of various kinds. The demands from the public as they see librarians those who should bend over backwards to make them happy.
Come work with me, and the wonderful faculty, staff, and students in the Faculty of Information & Media Studies (@westernuFIMS) @WesternU. We're hiring a Manager, Graduate Student Services! Details here: https://t.co/aH5CvdGNLW
