I plan to investigate the quantitative value of the U.S.' involvement in wars over its 246-year history. This will be compared to stated objectives of each war and the resulting outcomes, to qualitatively analyze how U.S. engagement in war and foreign policy has changed. #math530

Droughts are quite prevalent across the contiguous United States (80%), but storms and rainfall have been alleviating the situation in the Great Plains and the Mississippi valley. While the West Coast will get some relief, the situation will worsen along the Southern Atlantic.

This was created with Climate Prediction Center data for temperature and precipitation, and forecasts from the Weather Prediction Center. Additional factors such as, "climatology for December, La Niña composites, and initial conditions such as soil moisture" were considered.

Additionally, as this is a recent article, I wonder what George Bulman thinks will happen with the current recession. He writes about the Great Recession, will the outcome be similar (but hopefully on a lesser scale)?

George Bulman points out that large college endowments do not go towards greater financial aid packages. Large endowments are generally correlated with selective, high-yield schools that can simply enroll fewer students into financial aid.

I wonder why he grouped similar institutions into the same groups. It seems it is to compare similar schools, but I feel a regression line of the endowment to fin-aid would suffice?

I'll be researching if there is a positive correlation between endowment and the average amount of grant and scholarship aid awarded.

FiveThirtyEight's article on the Monarchy focuses in part on the generational difference in approval for the Queen (younger subjects dislike her), and if King Charles III should take an apolitical approach like his mother (most think he should continue to speak up).

I would be interested to see the disapproval rate for King Charles, but I understand that they didn't include it for brevity. But given his recent ascension to the throne, I really think it would be worthwhile.
