Today, we remember a legend.

On this day in history, Harambe would have celebrated another birthday. An icon that became part of internet history, American culture, and an entire generation’s timeline.

Tomorrow marks 10 years since we lost him. Ten years since the moment the world stopped scrolling and collectively mourned something bigger than a meme.

He became a symbol of loyalty, strength, chaos, unity, and the strange beauty of the internet bringing millions of people together for one cause: never forgetting Harambe.

Everyone remembers where they were when they heard the news. And somehow, a decade later, his legacy still lives on.

Today, we took long-overdue action to restore science, accountability, and the rule of law.

In September 2023, the Biden FDA pushed a number of peptides into Category 2 — “Bulk Drug Substances that Raise Significant Safety Risks” — driving a dangerous black market that puts Americans at risk.

Now, after nominators withdrew 12 peptides, the FDA will remove them from Category 2 and will bring them to PCAC at its next two meetings, beginning in July—where independent experts will rigorously evaluate each substance on its scientific merits using full clinical, pharmacological, and safety evidence.

@Defensamx1 se hace del conocimiento a la opinión pública que, con trabajos de inteligencia militar central, del Centro Nacional de Inteligencia y de la Fiscalía General de República (FEMDO), Fuerzas Especiales del Ejército Mexicano planearon y ejecutaron una operación en Tapalpa, Jal., en la que intervinieron diversas aeronaves de la Fuerza Aérea y la Fuerza Especial de Reacción Inmediata de la Guardia Nacional para lograr la detención de Ruben “N” (a) Mencho.

Durante esta operación, personal militar fue atacado, por lo que en defensa de su integridad repelieron la agresión, resultando cuatro integrantes del grupo delictivo “CJNG” fallecidos en el lugar y tres heridos de gravedad, quienes perdieron la vida durante su traslado vía aérea a la Ciudad de México; entre estos ��ltimos se encuentra Ruben “N” (a) Mencho, sin embargo, serán las autoridades correspondientes las que se encargarán de las actividades periciales para su identificación.

Además de lo anterior, fueron detenidos otros dos integrantes de esta organización delictiva y fue asegurado diverso armamento y vehículos blindados, entre los que se encuentran lanzacohetes capaces de derribar aeronaves y destruir vehículos blindados.

Lamentablemente durante esta acción militar, tres elementos de la institución resultaron heridos, quienes de igual forma fueron trasladados a instalaciones sanitarias de la Ciudad México, para su atención médica de urgencia.

Cabe hacer mención que, para la ejecución de esta operación, además de los trabajos de inteligencia militar central, dentro del marco de coordinación y cooperación bilateral con los EUA, se contó con información complementaria por parte de autoridades de ese país.

En estos momentos se están concentrando elementos de la Guardia Nacional y tropas del Ejército del centro del país y estados aledaños a Jalisco, para reforzar la seguridad de esta entidad federativa.

Con estas acciones la Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional refrenda su compromiso de contribuir al fortalecimiento de la seguridad de México.
