@JacobHarrisSBI He’s not a kid. He’s a 22 year old man who has a multi million dollar contract. At what age do you think people should be held accountable for mistakes?
@flatland_sports I agree. I think he should be able to gamble just like everyone else. Instead of suspending him he should be allowed to continue betting but post the bets
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 For instance a gas station or car dealership could make the argument that although the million dollars or whatever I paid didn’t equate to sales but if my competitor signed the guy it could sway fans to go buy from them
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 It’s the definition of a gray area in my opinion. I can recall when NIL first started rumors were that the ncaa would decide if the player’s NIL was worth what said business was paying. So the top players could still get big money from local boosters.
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 Then what’s the point of capping what the schools can pay? Majority of the salaries are paid by sources outside of the schools themselves
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 Suppose that there is a cap on how much the school can pay players. I don’t see any way that they can limit how much they can get paid by private businesses or marketing companies.
@revthought@Avabelly__ And if you had a $500 tab then you most likely were drinking alcohol and the server is expected to tip out the bartender after the shift
@revthought@Avabelly__ Idk how it is now but you used to be taxed as a server on 10% of your sales. Obviously some people tip more and some less but 15% was always assumed. I wonder if the meals $ went up 20% for wages and no tips would people go out to eat as much?
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 Idk maybe. The boosters who are funding these high $ rosters don’t seem to be slowing down. Now that it’s out in the open they can throwing $ and when it clicks they can brag about how they were responsible for the success
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 Yeah obviously each player negotiates with the team for what they believe they will contribute to the program. I was asking about the cap issue
@andysparks78@lo9406@JakeBequette91 If what the players are getting paid isn’t sustainable then it will stop going up every year and it will take care of itself. When the schools budget is reached and they can’t pay any more the salary will cap itself
