Relationship Coach, wife, and mom to 2 disabled kids (1 CP, 1 ASD). I help stressed parents become awesome partners and create lives that really work for them.
@parenthoodperks I don't know if you can still find it, but you might look for Muzzy. When my eldest was little I had a set of VHS tapes. It's a show designed to teach Spanish to kids. Maybe other languages too.
I hope there are days when your coffee tastes like magic, your playlist makes you dance, strangers make you smile, and the night sky touches your soul. I hope there are days when you fall in love with being alive.
“Telling a child in fight or flight that ‘you’re not alone’ is the same message we gave the child in infancy, & what is truly remarkable is how often we need to hear it: how powerful these ‘infant memories’ remain throughout the lifespan.” @StuartShanker#Development#Connection
@parenthoodperks I used to think I could hear my oldest when he wasn't even home (off with Dad).
Now my youngest is 11 and I still wake up if he breathes differently...
@jillbruce3 @GGraphicsinc I'm 47 and haven't ever felt pretty. I point out attractive women to my husband. People look at each other. We all notice who we think is attractive or not. It doesn't matter. I know I have nothing to worry about.
@thomasleeds The Three Musketeers with Charlie Sheen, Lost Boys, Necessary Roughness, Tango & Cash, Down Periscope, Princess Bride. All are good action movies with a sense of humor.
@NatHolmes75@The_Autism_Dad I've watched my son when we ask him to stop. I really don't think he can. Sometimes he starts whispering and I honestly think he thinks we can't hear him. It took years to help him narrate inside his head, but he still has trouble with it.
Apparently, my dad (who is 84) is having a great time at the senior center where he lives. He keeps leaving fake poop around for people to find.... This is not the man that raised me.
