Something else I found interesting from this presentation was how quickly the Anthony House shelter filled up and how quickly they had to find a bigger space. I think it's great that so many people felt comfortable going there @toEndHomeless#ucendsslavery
Kevin Finn talks about Strategies to End Homelessness and i was really taken back by the data shown in 2023 for people in shelter, DV, and on the streets. the number presented was 6,142 total unduplicated people in the street and in shelters. #ucendsslavery@toEndHomeless
Homelessness disproportionately affects young people...
-19% of homeless people are children
-11% are ages 18-24
-18% are 25-34 years old

One thing I found interesting in the presentation was how there quite a population of homeless teenagers that we are not aware of due to their efforts of blending in, like they do at UC. #ucendslavery@toEndHomeless
It is interesting to hear that there were 6,142 total people on the streets and in shelters. This, to me, is crazy and we need to make a change so that people aren't homeless or living on the streets.

I found it interesting that a way to end homelessness was with the use of organizations between the community and nonprofits. This demonstrated a great amount of resources to the community. @toEndHomeless
