Masvidal Diaz Fight Goes The Distance
Boxing
While there is no UFC unfortunately to hold our attention spans come Saturday, the fact of the matter is the world of combat sports does not rest for anyone, as the long anticipated rematch bout consisting of Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz trudges on irregardless without a doubt, 100 percent sure to keep the violence faithful satisfied for better or for worse during these barren UFCless times. The last time we saw Masvidal competing was against Gilbert Burns inside of the Octagon, where even though the aged Cuban was able to give a decent account of himself all things considered, ultimately still came up short in front of his hometown Dade County fans dropping a unanimous decision across the board when it was all said and done. It's not like Nate Diaz was exactly leaving the UFC on the most stellar note either, but the fact of the matter is he left a much better representation of himself and his brand by securing one last victory against a jurassic Tony Ferguson by way of humiliating guillotine choke. Their first run in with one and other ended in a stoppage victory for Masvidal on account for a cut, but what will come about this second time around inside the squared circle? There is no evidence to suggest that Nate Diaz should be able to pull it off as he is older, more frail and even less coordinated than he was all those years ago. The boxing match he had with Jake Paul recently more or less reinforces that notion. Scar tissue problems aside he should stick around to the bitter end win lose or draw, that's why playing the fight to go the distance is the best course of action given both competitors toughness and genuine inability to finish each other with 4 ounce gloves, much less the contracted 8-12 ounces that the boxing format will facilitate.
