Last WAFCON, I covered the tournament entirely with my own funds. No brand support. No compensation. Just a commitment to telling the stories of African women’s football.

At the men’s AFCON in 2025, several brands reached out to work with me.

Now, as WAFCON 2026 begins, it’s the same story again. No brand partnerships.

I also choose not to work with betting companies, which naturally limits some sponsorship opportunities, but that’s a decision I’m comfortable with.

The cost of quality coverage doesn’t change because it’s women’s football. Flights, accommodation, transport, equipment, just to name a few isn’t cheap.

What a moment it was for Abdul Jabar Adama, carrying the Nigerian flag at the opening ceremony of 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The 19-year-old Swimmer, is the first ever Nigerian to win a medal at the World Junior Swimming Championships.

Adama broke two records in one day to win a Silver medal in the 50m Butterfly in Romania.
