vaccine manufacturing @giz_gmbh, PhD @thehertieschool; interested in African affairs, access to medicines, corporate responsibility and Green politics.
To me, this is also the true finale of my PhD journey @thehertieschool. It was the first project I started and the last to end😄, learning a lot about academia and publishing in the meantime. Much thanks to @johannamair @VeroWirtz and Prof Mena for their support along the way.
🥳New paper just out in @BASeditors ! @NikolasRathert, @johannamair & I studied how two pharmaceutical companies integrated #accesstomedicines objectives into their business and managed to sustain this integration over time.

Big thank you to all our interviewees and reviewers, but also to @AtMIndex for the great data, and the entire access movement for pushing companies to adress this issue in more meaningful ways beyond donations (i.e. @MSF_access@Oxfam for their early analysis on the matter)
We have more than 30 vaccine manufacturing projects in Africa right now - great to finally have a real discussion on how this agenda can become more sustainable. Thanks to @AfricaCDC@UNCTAD and @AVMIAfrica for hosting.
@_HassanF@GovernmentZA@WHO@PresidencyZA Dont want to defend anything that happened during the pandemic, but the european partners at this panel are supporting the mrna tt hub to make sure that access to knowhow is better next time. Pity that IP owners dont cooperate with hub as well
Could be a breakthrough in local vaccine manufacturing as SA government commits to reviewing preferential procurement for african made vaccines #mRNATT2023#vaccineequity
Really happy that @BACKUP_Health works with this impressive open-access, global south-driven initiative to develop mRNA vaccine production capacities globally for better #vaccinequity now and in future pandemics #mRNATT2023
🤩We are excited to kick off the 1st face to face meeting w/ @WHO in #CapeTown today 🥳
Over 2⃣0⃣0⃣participants from around the 🌍 globe working w/ the #mRNA Technology Transfer Programme - a new model of #innovation that has equity and access at its ❤️❗️
#vaccines#mRNATT2023
Our #mRNA Tech Transfer programme meeting in #CapeTown, co-hosted w/ @WHO, is underway!
Afrigen🇿🇦 opened its doors for participants to visit the facility & have an opportunity to meet w/ the 👩🏽🔬scientists & 👨🏽💻engineers involved in developing the #mRNA tech platform .

@fraumueller_swp @ChialoJoe@Markus__Lanz wirklich sehr gut gemacht @fraumueller_swp!
Peter Sands @GlobalFund on Universal Health Coverage: ‘I have a new acronym for you. UHC = TAX’. Ultimately it comes down to what kind of countries politicians want to build. #whs2022
@dianajuerjs@AOMConnect@EricyZhao @Ballesteros_DC @GatignonAline @NikolasRathert Thank you very much for organizing this! Great to be able to present our paper from afar - even though we would have loved to be there.
